Some reasons to shop on 9th Street Thursday

A handful of business owners on Ninth Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue have joined forces to host a "shopping crawl" on the block from 4-7 p.m. this Thursday to help inspire locals to shop local. The participating stores are offering a discount on selected items... the map below has the details...

Why "selected items". Its not like they sell millions of things. Geez, how cheap

Let's keep these shops "alive and well and living in the East Village"* They urgently need our support as they're fighting against an ever more encroaching AMAZON. I try to spend every penny I can locally. Walking around the 'hood often, the sight of all those empty store fronts is quite depressing. As always, just my $ 0.02 * Hat tip to Jacques Brel.

Would hv helped if they had mentioned what the shops sell in a tiny bracket or footnote.... the names aren't helping...

Dear 9th Street Shopping Crawl organizers:

Love 9th Street. Shop there all the time.

Please put me to work next time you do this and we'll have this graphic professionally produced for you next time.

It's good, but really busy and hard to make out and understand at a quick glance.

Let us help you!

As a follow-up to my earlier post, here's a link to an article written by an economist regarding the machinations of Amazon's president: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/opinion-baker-amazon-hq2_us_5a7b28aee4b08dfc92ff0128?ncid=inblnkushpmg00000009
