Also: There have been multiple shootings on Avenue D in the past couple of weeks, In the old days these would have been front page news and covered on every evening local newscast, but today the only way to know about local crime is to be an eyewitness, listen to police scanners, or have the Citizen app, which only posts a small fraction of the ongoing crime. One shooting was on 8th Street and D. The other was further south. And to think, this used to be such a nice safe neighborhood, back when only the Native Americans and beavers were living here.
